NAEYC Professional Standard 1:
Promoting Child Development and Learning.
Rationale:
comprehension of How children develop, and the positive and negative effects society and adults can have on children. This was a heavily researched paper, i did, that was based upon how children develop with their behavior. In regards to what helps and what hurts them as they grow and develop. This is researched based, supporting my philosophy in working with children, in regards to their behavior. This paper shows an understanding that different factors effect a child's development. There is also research in my paper about how helping with children's behaviors early on will help them to develop into successful children in school, which will lead them to have more opportunity to become successful throughout life.

NAEYC Professional Standard 2: Building Family and Community Relationships
Rationale:
I grew pretty close to a family at the first childcare setting i was at. This little girl, that had the most awesome personality and was so funny, became like my best friend there. Her mom was a single parent who worked hard. I was very attached to Adrianna and we became close, i continued to see her after i worked at the center, and still talked to her mom about how she was doing. Once i started taking a class at OCC, one of the assignments was to make a portfolio on a child. I put in a lot of time to collect all sorts of information on Adrianna and continued to communicate with her mom to get information and to just keep her posted. I put together a whole binder, and made it pink. I was happy to give it to Adrianna, and she was excited to take it home with her. I talked to her mom about it, and about the information that i had collected. and she took the time to look through it quite extensively. This was something her mom said she would be happy to show to her later on when she gets older, just to look back on it.

anecdotal notes on Adrianna to go along with Child Study, More information, but can also go with standard 3
NAEYC Professional Standard 3:
Observing, Documenting, and Assessing to Support Young Children and Families.
A very extensive behavior plan, with notes. comprehension of the importance of notes to help develop children, and to put notes to practice to better child. Also familiar with anecdotal notes for core. I met this child, and instantly i noticed he had some problem behaviors. I watched for about 4 months until i intervened to help with a behavior plan. I documented a lot of notes on child's behavior, until i had everything into perspective, so i could assess his behaviors. This was a project that i did, and i ended up using the plan to help better the child's behavior. The way this child manages his behavior now is truly a 180 degree turn around from when i met him. He is doing great in school, and has came a long ways since i met him and started his behavior plan.
Individualized intense intervention notes and other notes & anecdotal notes

NAEYC professional Standard 4. Using Developmentally Effective Approaches to Connect with Children and Families.
Rationale:
Soccer is one of my greatest passions while working with children. You can use soccer to work with any developmental level a child may be. You can accommodate soccer to the child with the most minor changes. You can show them to kick the ball hard or how to do toe touches and pass with the end side of your foot to another child to build teamwork. I can teach them anything, i can show them that the ball is round and it can roll fast or slow
I am always ready to play soccer and teach children. In the right I am coaching a 3-4 class at a soccer program. Currently, at the head start i am at now, i brought in a soccer ball to play with kids. some never played before, some were really good. Someone saw that i was outside playing soccer with the kids and working with them and they came down to my classroom with a big trash bag, and ended up donating about ten soccer balls to the program. It was one of the cool things that i have seen so far. This created a connection the families, because some of the parents thought it was very cool that their kids were getting to play soccer. The parents say things like, "oh you got play soccer again today?!" This showed me that it is something the kids were talking about at home.
soccer is a positive tool i use to build relationships with the children and parents, while it is something fairly unique to help develop the children. The children work together while playing soccer, and build relationships amongst their peers as well. I love using soccer as a strategy to help children become more self regulated as well. They become more self regulated while playing soccer, because they are more quick to learn technique in soccer, and then once they know the technique they catch there selves doing a technique a different way, and they redirect what they are doing to fix it.

NAEYC Professional Standard 5 Using Content Knowledge to
Build Meaningful Curriculum
Rationale:
The slideshow below shows how to work with children in the different areas of core. This was a project i did in class with a group. It shows an understanding how to set up for curriculum with different lesson plans. I also had lesson plans that broke down different KDI's and activities for each area.
An anti bias curriculum is to help children learn to be accepting of others, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or disability. Children in this type of environment become comfortable with diversity. When they see things are injustice these children tend to stand up for what is justice. These environments are very supportive and open-minded. This is something that i take pride in, treating every kid equal and making sure there are lesson plans that reach out to all children and is non bias. Because my experience with my friends kid really opens my eyes and gives me so much empathy for children that acquire different situations. I don't support anyone who can't reach out to all various children, no matter who they are.

NAEYC professional Standard 6.
Becoming a Professional
Rationale:
This shows me doing more research in the field of child education, so i am always continuing my education to make myself a better professional in my field of work. I continue to want to better myself as a person, and an educator, as well as better the world around me. This is a business i want to eventually pursue. i did a speech as a practice, and this was the outline to my speech for my business. I have done research on how to make it happen, from the research side of things, the child education, and selling my business to group homes and others who could benefit from a business such as this. This is a service that i would want to provide to children and families to help develop children into successful adults.
